THE FIRST PROJECT YEAR Autumn 2016- Spring 2017
August 30th, 2016
Introducing our project “Environmentally Friendly Cranberries and Innovative Tablets” to our school staff.
Choosing the project group of students - form 7B.
Organising Erasmus+ team, introducing the work plan to the teachers (mother tongue, maths, science, art, handicraft, English) involved.
The aims of the project were introduced to our project group students. The activities and responsibilities of the 1st project year were discussed.
Our students’ project group from 7B created logos. The best one was voted for. Our IT assistant helped us to create stickers from the best logo.
Introducing our project on the school Erasmus+ project display (project objectives, short summary, partner school descriptions, etc).
The aims of our project were introduced to the parents at the parents’ meeting.
IT course for students: using digitechnology to make sound recordings of nature using smartphones or tablets carried out by our IT education specialist. The App “Minu loodusheli” was introduced for the first time.
Small literature exhibitions in school library were put up by our librarian.. The exhibition introduces books by the authors of different countries involved in project.
A project info-stand to introduce the countries taking part in this project was put up. All posters were created by students in their English lessons.
We spent a lot of time preparing for the kick-off project meeting in Võru.
Our school was responsible for carrying out the 1st Project Meeting. We hosted our partner schools from Latvia, Finland, Poland and Italy. Lots of people from school were engaged to help us succeed. Many thanks to our colleagues and students for their contribution!
Special thanks to our art teacher Aire, our librarian Kristel, our IT education specialist Evi, our IT assistants Ene and Urmas, our financial manager Argo, our head teachers Eha and Ene, our headmaster Kaider and to our brilliant students from 9B: Anette, Emili, Hanna, Helina, Agate and Liisa!
Our headmaster Kaider Vardja intoduced our project to the teachers of Võru County at the Methodology Conference.
Letter for our subject teachers was sent in order to collect the ideas for planning the field trip in spring.
A film course for our students: making short films and documentaries. A short film introducing our school will be created by our students of Form 7.b (Hanna-Maria, Kirsi-Katrin, Alarich, Karl Jakop and Tim Hendrik).

Sending a letter to our subject teachers (engaged in the project) and asking them to start compiling instructions handouts on their activities which could be used during the field trip in March.

March 13th -April 30th 2017
Classroom activities in project connected subjects after the field trip. Creating a poem postcard in Estonian and translating them into English, 3D picture in maths, postcards and herbarium in art, discussions on field trip tasks and handouts in biology and science, a backback in handicraft, a magnet in woodwork. Working with GPS in geography- pairwork task.
Writing short summaries on each field trip task both in mother tongue and in Estonian. Working in groups of 3 students.
April 5th-April 9th 2017
Taking part in the second Project Meeting in Piacenza, Italy. Exchange of experiences. Evaluation of the work plan (Project Homepage, Introducing Project Poster, eTwinning, Facebook, Feedback questionnaire for teachers and students. Introducing the project work for the second year (Drama, Christmas Charity Sale, Open Educational Resources (OER), Ready-made apps).

Working at eTwinning: arranging the materials about the first Field Trip (photos, videos, summary, descriptions of the tasks).

- Evaluation of the 1st project year: Filling in the teachers’ and students’ feedback questionnaires.
- Start of contributing the multilingual eBook, contributions are in English and in national language, text, sound recordings of nature, drawings, photos or videofilms.
